Treasurer


The Young Assyrians (TYA) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Treasurer to join our Board of Directors. The Treasurer will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accountability, financial stability, and transparency. This is a crucial leadership role that requires collaboration with other board members to support the mission and strategic goals of TYA.

Title: Treasurer

Location: U 7/39-41 Harris St, Fairfield NSW 2165, Remote

Commitment: Volunteer

Term: 24 months

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Approves of expenditure,

  2. Audit trails for all transactions,

  3. Continually maintain and monitor the organisation’s bank account as well as financial records,

  4. Enforce strong internal financial management policies and systems,

  5. Ensure accurate and complete financial reporting to the Board,

  6. Ensure regulatory compliance, and

  7. Maintain all records for a minimum of seven (7) years from the date of the end of that respective financial year.

This opportunity is open to university students, recent graduates, or professionals in the workforce who are eager to make a meaningful impact in the Assyrian-Australian community. While prior experience in financial management or accounting is desired, it is not a requirement. We believe in the potential of our members and are committed to providing comprehensive training and support to help you succeed in this role.
